Intent is an application designed to build healthier habits around mobile screen time and device usage.

Intent

A rangatahi residence in the community. Designed to encourage each rangatahi who comes to stay to engage with their own Rangatiratanga/self determination. Spatial and atmospheric flexibility has been emphasised, while also maintaining a safe and secure home. The framing of a central courtyard acts as both a boundary and creates a sense of play between the interior and exterior. Each interior space has a unique relationship with this central communal space and the outside, enabling rangatahi to rehabilitate without a feeling of imprisonment, but rather a punanga/refuge in the community.

Ragatahi Rangatiratanga | Youth Justice Residence

Kua Whetūrangitia looks at the remembrance phase of matariki. By using the framework of Te Whare Tapa Whā, this prototype explores how total wellbeing may considered when people pass their loved ones to the stars.
